Something I hope my friends Louis and Eric will like. This was the terrace attached to their place, until their recent sale, in Provncetown USA. Painted in Procreate over a couple weeks, I did not feel like I was ready for it, it's sort of complicated, until I finished the lighthouse illustration. Landscapes don't come easy for me and I am trying to do more so I'm not so intimated by them. Not sure what style I was going for here. It's not photographic but it is a little anime background painting maybe. Tried to use perspective lines to give it depth.

You may say it's not photographic, but I might disagree. When I saw it on Instagram, I thought it was one from your recent trip. I think it works really, really well and you totally nail the colors. I bet your friends would love to have this as a print and a memory. Really nicely done.
I think on instagram images are so small anything detailed can look like a photo. I think it's very stylized but then again so are most photos these days so I am likely just not seeing it as photographic since I have seen all the detail close up! I heard from my friends and they seem to like it a lot but it did bring up some sadness from selling the place they have been going through. If I can go back this fall and take more photos I will make another book and add my illustrations into it I think. I have a few now.
