Illustration: Carver Street, Provincetown, MA

The last of these Provincetown drawings for a long while I think. I pass this house a lot from  where I stay to Commercial Street. I love the look but drawing it I saw there were a lot of signs of it having some maintenance issues. I didn't draw any of the trees etc around it to see more of the structure.

There are some really interesting proportions on this one. On one hand, it feels tall because it's a Victorian and they tend to be. On the other, it feels squat as well. You also have some more perspective in this one than most and it's well done. Lovely colors, too. Very nice!

I did exaggerate the colours a bit. The sea air dulls paint pretty quick. I always loved this place from the outside. It might be a mess on the inside for all I know. The perspective was more important in this one for me to show the smaller part was set back and was likely added much later on from when the larger part was built.
