Poster project: War of the Worlds (1953) (finished)

I decided on a look I thought fit the film and it's style. The stars are a photo I took in Colorado years ago with my brother and the earth is a 3D render I made in Cinema 4D years ago. I had the planet mars and the martian probe ready for the poster but that was way too crowded and counter to my ideas on what I wanted it to look like. The title is remade from the original poster and I used Paramount logo from the 50s.

I like the elements, but there seems to be a big blank space on the left hand side of the composition. What if the earth was more or least center and the hand was seen head-on draped over it? Or just ignore me. :D

That space continues the curve between the hand and the ship. Personally there is too little negative space in current posters ( also to many elements like having every actor in the film filling the poster) so it was a composition choice. Does it work? Its does for me but it might also be why I am not making movie posters for a living!
