Updating older animations: 25 Years Later (2020) opening shots

I am finally, slowly getting more done on remaking this project. Life is in the way and I just don't get the chance to do anything creative these days. This is the second shot in the film and I think it shows I am on the right track in just improving the animation in a worthwhile way. Blender has been acting up. The latest release won't render; it crashes blender so I have to open the file in an older version to render. Not sure what the problem is there.  I am using the same software for the character in the new version which has improved a bit. In the 2020 version I had to make the characters in a separate app and rig them for that app. Now the software is an add-on in Blender and uses Blender's rigging system which saves time and give me so much more control, especially with faces.

Hopefully it won't take another month or two to get to the second scene, but it might at this rate!

You can certainly see the difference in quality. So much more mood in the new image. Don't know why there are crashing issues. Hope an update clears it up for you soon.

I am not sure either why it crashes. They made blender apple silicon only before they were ready maybe. Though apple is killing the intel software compatibility next upgrade so they don’t have much choice. Thanks for looking and commenting, I did another couple of shots and like them much better than the original. There are a couple of shots from the original I could keep and they will look fine I think but I am more leaning towards remaking them even for slight improvements.
