Poster project: Flash Gordon poster ( finished (?)

I did redraw much of Flash's face as I was very unhappy with it. I showed Ming to a couple people they really liked it a lot so maybe Flash suffered from being my first vector portrait as well as me giving into some of my worse tendencies like making him too pale, especially the lips. For the ship I used a 3D model I made combining several Flash Gordon designs. I used it as a special effects test years ago. I was able to position as I wanted for the poster and drawing it was fairly straightforward.

I think this is a really good effort but for me, there's still some weirdness in Crabbe's and Ming's features. They seem too soft compared to the really hard edges of their costumes and the other details. The spaceship is dead on. I think it is a really neat idea, too. I can't tell if you want any kind of constructive critique or not. I usually err on the side of being positively supportive. Let me know what you need or want.

It might be party because its all vectors so the shading is all from gradients and blurs which is limiting. I am also going for an art deco poster sort of look but in the end I just don't have the skills to push it further right now. A couple Buster fans I know really love it and Robin really loves Ming. It is discouraging me from trying another vector portrait anytime soon!

I should have added, if any technique comes to mind you think could improve this, I might go back to it. I was happy at least to make it better from the earlier iteration by increasing the contrast.

Hey, you got some people that love it. That's far more important than anything I have to say!
